语言点：

　　1、“nerve”的原意是“神经、胆量、勇气”。英语中有许多形容心理和感情状态的词组，都以“nerve”作为主干。除了这里的“get some nerve”表示“有胆量”之外。还有“get on sb.’s nerves”（让人心烦、刺激某人）及“regain one’s nerve”（恢复勇气或自信）等。

　　2、“banner”常用的意思是“旗帜，标语”。但现代美国俚语中，经常用它来修饰某一时间名词（evening，month，year），用以形容主语在这一段时间内非常“志得意满”。例如：2003 has been a banner year for my company.（对于我们公司来说，2003年是胜利的一年）。

　　3、玛雅最后一句话中的“Karma”来自于古印度梵文，意为“因缘、报应”。欧美国家近年来对东方文化颇感兴趣，许多年轻人常把一些梵文词挂在嘴边。奥利紧接着说的“Krishna”是印度教中的“黑天大神”，为主神毗湿奴的第八大化身。

　　“square someone with something”意为“使某人等同于某事物”。奥利在这里的意思是：“你以为请我吃顿饭，自己就能修成仙了？”
